Rev. Stephanie Haskins

Director, Religious and Spiritual Programs

Rev. Stephanie Haskins is ordained in the United Church of Christ (Protestant) and has served congregations in Massachusetts, Iowa, and Connecticut. She holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and a Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School. Pastor Stephanie is passionate about multifaith and interspiritual formation as well as contemplative spirituality.

Dr. Hazza Abu Rabia

College Chaplain

Dr. Hazza Abu Rabia is a Professor of Arabic Language, Culture, and Society at the University of Connecticut and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Arabic at Connecticut College. He holds dual M.A. degrees in Islamic Studies from Hartford Seminary and Judaic Studies from the University of Connecticut, as well as an Ed.D. in Leadership and Education from the University of Hartford.

With deep expertise in Islam and its culture, his teaching focuses on changes in Islamic and Arabic culture, Arabic Language, and Arabic literature. He has developed courses and earned teaching awards from the University of Hartford (2016) and the University of Connecticut (2021).

Dr. Abu Rabia has authored books such as Palestine and Diaspora: Photographer Fadil Nassir Saba (2021), alongside peer-reviewed articles. He also served as an advisor for Muslim and Arab international students at the University of Hartford.

Father Larry LaPointe

College Chaplain

A once familiar face has reappeared on campus! Fr. Larry LaPointe, a chaplain at Connecticut College from 1979 to 2012 will be celebrating Sunday and holy day Masses in Harkness Chapel at 4:00 p.m. on Sundays. Fr. Larry taught a First Year Seminar from 2007-2010 and received the College Medal in 2013. He is now Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish, a multi-cultural, multi-lingual Catholic parish in Willimantic, CT.

Rabbi Susan Schein

College Chaplain, Director of Zachs HIllel House

Susan Schein was ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and previously served as associate rabbi for Congregation Kol Emet in Yardley, Pa. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and German language and literature from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree in German literature from Washington University in St. Louis. Schein was previously the coordinator for spiritual development at Philadelphia University. She has also served as Hillel director at Bucknell University and program director of the St. Louis Hillel Foundation, where she worked with students at Washington University and other campuses throughout the metropolitan area.
